T.C. Williams has spent more than twenty years living and working in East Asia. During that time, he has watched China transform from the workshop of the world into one of the most technologically advanced societies on the planet: an experience that has shaped his fascination with the way technology and power intersect.
Born in 1982, he has been writing speculative fiction with a satirical edge since his twenties. His short fiction has been published online.
Tide Rising is his first novel in the dystopian DEEP series.
Drawing on his years in Asia, Williams writes tense, character-driven speculative thrillers built around mystery, surveillance, technology and the uneasy boundary between protection and control.
He has worked in educational publishing, international education and, briefly, the technology sector. He continues to live in East Asia, where he teaches English Literature and writes fiction.
When he isn’t writing, he continues his struggle to increase muscle mass while avoiding the temptation to gorge on chocolate and other sugary snacks. He is married and has one son.
